For she was born in Paris, spent her child\u00adhood in Aus\u00adtria and lives in Ibi\u00adza for more than a deca\u00adde now. She throws 150 con\u00adcerts a year on the avera\u00adge. Jazz, alt\u00adhough being a niche gen\u00adre, the\u00adre might not be ano\u00adther gen\u00adre mani\u00adfest\u00ading in such a wide ran\u00adge. The\u00adre is a branch within jazz cal\u00adled spi\u00adri\u00adtu\u00adal jazz. Its pio\u00adneer is said to be John Col\u00adtra\u00adne, as that kind of immersi\u00adve con\u00adtext was iden\u00adti\u00adfied pri\u00adma\u00adri\u00adly in his records. After Col\u00adtra\u00adne, the\u00adre were a num\u00adber of jazz per\u00adfor\u00admers play\u00ading this way. The com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adon of the band is alre\u00ada\u00addy a curio\u00adsi\u00adty, as saxo\u00adpho\u00adne and drums are not typi\u00adcal\u00adly pai\u00adred in a band. This record could be addres\u00adsed as a real path\u00adfin\u00adder. It is obvious that Gross\u00admann knows John Coltrane\u2019s and Ornet\u00adte Coleman\u2019s work. It might be easi\u00adly assu\u00admed from the abo\u00adve facts, that her com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons are not at all from the roman\u00adtic saxo\u00adpho\u00adne based com\u00adpound. The reper\u00adtoire con\u00adsists of eight num\u00adbers of avera\u00adge length. The most remar\u00adkab\u00adle items on the record are \u201eMagne\u00adtic Uni\u00adver\u00adse\u201d, \u201eInter\u00adac\u00adtion\u201d and \u201eQuint\u00adessence\u201d. As a con\u00adse\u00adquence, a vast amount of the reper\u00adtoire con\u00adsists of eight-minu\u00adte or lon\u00adger tracks. As it is expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adced in the musician\u2019s later albums, she extends this time\u00adframe even fur\u00adther. Gross\u00admann see\u00admed to feel the frame\u00adwork of a duo for\u00adma\u00adti\u00adon too nar\u00adrow, thus this record was made with the con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adti\u00adon of her three musi\u00adcal col\u00adle\u00adagues. It is not easy to iden\u00adti\u00adfy what is pri\u00adma\u00adri\u00adly cat\u00adching our ears. Per\u00adhaps the vivid saxo\u00adpho\u00adne play? Per\u00adhaps the enjoya\u00adble asser\u00adti\u00adve\u00adness of the tracks\u2019? The\u00adre is no simp\u00adle ans\u00adwer, most\u00adly becau\u00adse Grossmann\u2019s music can have an impact on more levels of con\u00adscious\u00adness at a time. Alt\u00adhough Grossmann\u2019s 2009, same titled record has not\u00adhing to do with the movie. Nevert\u00adhel\u00adess it is a very good record, in which the saxo\u00adpho\u00adnist is cou\u00adra\u00adge\u00adous\u00adly expe\u00adri\u00admen\u00adting even with the com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adon of the band. After the duo and the quar\u00adtet albums, Sud\u00adden Impact, for the sake of diver\u00adsi\u00adty, is a trio album. The spe\u00adcia\u00adli\u00adty of the reper\u00adtoire is that two num\u00adbers, alre\u00ada\u00addy part of the record Here and Now, are lis\u00adted here too. The first pie\u00adce \u201eJoa\u00adchim\u201d, and \u201eMagne\u00adtic Uni\u00adver\u00adse\u201d in the initi\u00adal third of the disk are recor\u00added in com\u00adple\u00adte\u00adly dif\u00adfe\u00adrent style. Tho\u00adse who del\u00adve into both disks, can deci\u00adde whe\u00adther the\u00adse com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons are bet\u00adter per\u00adfor\u00admed eit\u00adher in the first, or the second ver\u00adsi\u00adon. The\u00adre are nine tracks on this sil\u00adver colo\u00adred disk. The per\u00adfor\u00admer-com\u00adpo\u00adser seems to have deci\u00added this time, that she pres\u00adents her the\u00adsis in brief items. Thus, most of the tracks are only bet\u00adween three and four minu\u00adtes long. Gross\u00admann turns her scope to free- and avant\u00adgar\u00adde jazz fearless\u00adly. She does this by mas\u00adterful\u00adly crea\u00adting a balan\u00adce bet\u00adween the abo\u00adve men\u00adtio\u00adned two sub\u00adgen\u00adres. She did not think for a moment, whe\u00adther she should be empa\u00adthic with tho\u00adse who do not feel for music in the way she does. She just can\u00adnot ima\u00adgi\u00adne that depth in music is not to be dis\u00adco\u00adver\u00aded for the simp\u00adle min\u00added lis\u00adte\u00adner. The musi\u00adci\u00adan uti\u00adli\u00adzes the free\u00addom pro\u00advi\u00added by jazz as a gen\u00adre and she pipes that into inten\u00adse musi\u00adcal lan\u00adguage. Her com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons dif\u00adfu\u00adse so much ener\u00adgy and fresh\u00adness as one can be sure, that the artist enjoy\u00aded even the com\u00adpo\u00adsing pro\u00adcess. The seven-num\u00adber disk con\u00adta\u00adins brief tracks such as \u201eBreathing\u201d (3:57) and also lon\u00adger ones such as \u201eStrength\u201d (11:02).<br>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: calibri; font-size: 12pt; color: #99ccff;\">It would be dif\u00adfi\u00adcult to cho\u00adse a favou\u00adri\u00adte from the album, for it has such a balan\u00adced sys\u00adtem and high level reper\u00adtoire, that con\u00adta\u00adins coe\u00adqual com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons. This five-pie\u00adce reper\u00adtoire seems mode\u00adra\u00adte at first glan\u00adce. In rea\u00adli\u00adty, each pie\u00adce in this record is a gran\u00addio\u00adse take. Among the tracks, the shor\u00adtest is the title song \u201eAwa\u00adke\u00adning\u201d with its 9:37\u2019 length, and the lon\u00adgest is \u201eWien\u201d (14:46). As it was alre\u00ada\u00addy men\u00adtio\u00adned abo\u00adve, the deeper Gross\u00admann goes into her care\u00ader, the lon\u00adger her pie\u00adces beco\u00adme, pro\u00advi\u00adding an ever gro\u00adwing play\u00adfield. It can well be heard that the musi\u00adci\u00adan is splas\u00adhing in the waves of this role, she plays reck\u00adless\u00adly, with gre\u00adat joy and unfai\u00adling ener\u00adgy. This record which is an expres\u00adsi\u00adon and ful\u00adfill\u00adment of free\u00addom, love, and inno\u00adcence, is a real gift. It is a rede\u00adfi\u00adni\u00adti\u00adon of the self, though not the one crea\u00adted by thought or by the con\u00adscious\u00adness, but bey\u00adond the thin\u00adking self. Its indis\u00adpensable pie\u00adces are the birth place inspi\u00adred \u201eWien\u201d, the smooth\u00adly flowing \u201ePeaceful River\u201d, and the final \u201eOrnet\u00adte\u201d. While only rea\u00adding about it, one might tend to a mar\u00adgi\u00adna\u00adliza\u00adti\u00adon: eso\u00adte\u00adric paths are dee\u00admed to lead into the moor&nbsp;of super\u00adfi\u00adci\u00ada\u00adli\u00adty. Lucki\u00adly, the musician\u2019s mes\u00adsa\u00adges are free of cor\u00adny phra\u00adses. This album is much more than only one among the eso\u00adte\u00adric disks. This is true from more aspects. On the one hand, this is a jazz album, on the other, it almost com\u00adple\u00adte\u00adly lacks enchan\u00adting tunes. The\u00adre is a bound\u00adless\u00adly matu\u00adre, high\u00adly con\u00adtrol\u00adled, and unearth\u00adly pas\u00adsio\u00adna\u00adte musi\u00adcal\u00adi\u00adty ins\u00adtead. The album deals with the\u00admes ever popu\u00adlar today, such as \u201eHope\u201d, \u201eWis\u00addom\u201d, and \u201eUncon\u00addi\u00adtio\u00adnal Love\u201d. Gross\u00admann seems to have found the most ide\u00adal musi\u00adcal band for\u00adma\u00adti\u00adon in a quar\u00adtet: this is her third album in a row tog\u00ade\u00adther with three more musi\u00adci\u00adans. Moreo\u00adver, she has not chan\u00adged a bit on the per\u00adson\u00adnel, she went to the stu\u00addio with the same musi\u00adci\u00adans she recor\u00added her pre\u00advious album, the Awa\u00adke\u00adning. Among its cha\u00adrac\u00adte\u00adristics the\u00adre are the remar\u00adkab\u00adle solos, vivid saxo\u00adpho\u00adne plays and a cli\u00admax of team\u00adwork in musi\u00adco\u00adlo\u00adgy. Alt\u00adhough see\u00ading through the musician\u2019s care\u00ader so far, this unex\u00adplaina\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty takes a nice tra\u00adjec\u00adto\u00adry. The pro\u00adgress of the musician\u2019s con\u00adsci\u00adence is well trackable within the last eight years. While on the 2008 Here and Now she tri\u00ades seve\u00adral pathes expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adcing, on the cur\u00adrent record she only fol\u00adlows one path, very cle\u00adar\u00adly. Gross\u00admann, pur\u00adsuing com\u00adple\u00adten\u00adess, mana\u00adged to get\u00adting to know the limits of the human brain and the thought. She com\u00adpre\u00adhen\u00added that it is not to be grab\u00adbed but to be over\u00adco\u00adme, and to uti\u00adli\u00adze it for what it is for. She rea\u00adli\u00adzed how to step into the now, the com\u00adple\u00adten\u00adess, the sta\u00adte of con\u00adscious\u00adness-wit\u00adhout-a-choice. The only dif\u00adfi\u00adcul\u00adty here is that Gross\u00admann is not sup\u00adpo\u00adsed to wri\u00adte an essay about her dis\u00adco\u00adveries, but express hers\u00adelf in musi\u00adcal lan\u00adguage ins\u00adtead.
