             Mar\u00adko was born in 1978 in Ruma, Ser\u00adbia, ex-Yugo\u00adsla\u00advia. His musi\u00adcal pur\u00adsu\u00adit began at the age of 13 by enrol\u00adling in clas\u00adsi\u00adcal per\u00adcus\u00adsion stu\u00addies. In the years to come he dis\u00adco\u00adver\u00aded hand per\u00adcus\u00adsion and star\u00adted moving towards modern music and jazz. At the age of 19 he moved to Bel\u00adgra\u00adde and began play\u00ading in a varie\u00adty of bands of diver\u00adse styl\u00ades, such as Blues, Jazz, Funk, Latin-Jazz and wes\u00adtern Afri\u00adcan music, which reflec\u00adted in over 600 shows with a Bel\u00adgra\u00adde based West Afri\u00adcan group named So Sabi.<\/span><\/p>\n

             At the time he star\u00adted to stu\u00addy Jazz at the Stan\u00adko\u00advic Music School in Bel\u00adgra\u00adde and par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adted in a Ser\u00adbi\u00adan Youth Big Band as the drum\u00admer, inter\u00adpre\u00adting a wide reper\u00adtoire from Ben\u00adny Good\u00adman and Glenn Mil\u00adler to Count Basie, Duke Elling\u00adton to Quin\u00adcy Jones and Sam\u00admy Nesti\u00adco as well as con\u00adtem\u00adpo\u00adra\u00adry com\u00adpo\u00adsers based in Ser\u00adbia, like Ivan Ilic and Mar\u00adko Djordjevic.<\/span><\/p>\n

              In 2005 he moved to Bar\u00adce\u00adlo\u00adna and began his stu\u00addies at the pres\u00adti\u00adgious Liceu Con\u00adser\u00adva\u00adto\u00adry in the depart\u00adment for Jazz and modern music and gra\u00addua\u00adted with honors in 2009. During that time he inves\u00adti\u00adga\u00adted his ori\u00adg\u00adins in the band Los Mous\u00adsa\u00adkis, play\u00ading tra\u00addi\u00adtio\u00adnal folk\u00adlo\u00adric music from the Bal\u00adkan, rich in amal\u00adgam rhythms.<\/span><\/p>\n

        In 2007 his path crossed with Aus\u00adtri\u00adan saxo\u00adpho\u00adne play\u00ader, Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann, whe\u00adre he dis\u00adco\u00adver\u00aded a new approach to music, going from con\u00adtem\u00adpo\u00adra\u00adry Jazz to Avant-guard to free Jazz, recor\u00adding 3 albums and having num\u00ade\u00adrous per\u00adfor\u00adman\u00adces. In 2008 the Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann Quar\u00adtet shared the stage with one of the gre\u00adats of jazz, Joa\u00adchim Kuehn, which enri\u00adched his way in approa\u00adching music.<\/span><\/p>\n

               Nowa\u00addays he still resi\u00addes in Bar\u00adce\u00adlo\u00adna taking part in many dif\u00adfe\u00adrent musi\u00adcal pro\u00adjects, such as: Los Mous\u00adsa\u00adkis, Bal\u00adkan Colors (duo with Du\u0161an Jev\u00adto\u00advi\u0107, Ser\u00adbi\u00adan and Mace\u00addo\u00adni\u00adan folk\u00adlo\u00adric music), Gok\u00adhan Surer Quar\u00adtet (Ana\u00adto\u00adli\u00adan psy\u00adche\u00adde\u00adlic pro\u00adgres\u00adsi\u00adve fusi\u00adon), RCJ<\/span> (free impro trio), Adry Fer\u00adnan\u00addez P.U.N.K, Shungo (afro-equa\u00adto\u00adri\u00adal fusi\u00adon) among others. He is an acti\u00adve par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpant in Barcelona\u2019s gro\u00adwing free impro\u00advi\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adon sce\u00adne, sha\u00adring the stage with some of the best musi\u00adci\u00adans in Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n

           He also shares his know\u00adledge through giving pri\u00adva\u00adte drum les\u00adsons and plans on making a work\u00adshop duo with a gre\u00adat Bar\u00adce\u00adlo\u00adna drum\u00admer Vas\u00adco Tril\u00adla on sub\u00adjects such as com\u00adplex and amal\u00adgam rhyth\u00adms and the art of free impro\u00advi\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adon, with the goal of expan\u00adding our musi\u00adcal expres\u00adsi\u00adon abilities.<\/span><\/p>\n
