It is as if she, Milo\u00adj\u00adko\u00advic and Pel\u00adli\u00adco were spea\u00adking, as if their insights were of such a com\u00adpel\u00adling force that they have to tran\u00ads\u00adcend ordi\u00adna\u00adry ways of musi\u00adcal speech and tex\u00adtures to be able to con\u00advey chal\u00adlen\u00adging self- dis\u00adco\u00advery. As the instru\u00adments reach into them\u00adsel\u00adves and across to each other, they embrace the who\u00adle in one sen\u00adse. She offers us today a trio with gui\u00adta\u00adrist Rado\u00admir Milo\u00adj\u00adko\u00advic and bas\u00adsist Che\u00adma Pel\u00adli\u00adco. Free jazz, of cour\u00adse, but tur\u00adned away from ener\u00adgy brea\u00adking into intro\u00ads\u00adpec\u00adti\u00adve chants, taking shape with the will of free time. Lis\u00adtening, in fact, remains the uni\u00adfy\u00ading ele\u00adment of music: each of them take time to lend an ear to play with each other: Lis\u00adtening and reve\u00adrie. The impro\u00advi\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adons are emer\u00adging in hus\u00adhed envi\u00adron\u00adment fel\u00adted like a pic\u00adtu\u00adre of art, the fuz\u00adzy com\u00adpe\u00adte with the sharp\u00adness. The sound of alto saxo\u00adpho\u00adne Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann is both full and incisi\u00adve and ten\u00adder, like the play of the gui\u00adta\u00adrist, who distills his notes by clus\u00adters, with a pre\u00addil\u00adec\u00adtion for piz\u00adzi\u00adca\u00adto that he beads like a neck\u00adlace of pearls. Curious\u00adly, and against the tide may\u00adbe, if this free jazz is a free music through its vital essence \u2013 by its spon\u00adta\u00adneous form and abs\u00adtrac\u00adtion of har\u00admo\u00adnies \u2014 it is not by the over\u00adall sound of the trio: each musi\u00adci\u00adan con\u00adscious\u00adly avo\u00adids the cli\u00adch\u00e9s spe\u00adci\u00adfic to their instru\u00adment through the histo\u00adry of New Thing: no hoar\u00adse cry on saxo\u00adpho\u00adne, no para\u00adsi\u00adte sound on the bass (strings, just the strings), no noi\u00adsy expe\u00adri\u00admen\u00adtal elec\u00adtric gui\u00adtar. Impro\u00advi\u00adsed music, rather than instanta\u00adneous, in which dif\u00adfe\u00adrent voices fly\u00ading in par\u00adal\u00adlel, are built with exqui\u00adsi\u00adte poe\u00adtic ten\u00adsi\u00adon.
