ALBUM<\/span> NOTES<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

                 The jour\u00adney to accom\u00adplish Earth Tones comes from a deep wish to crea\u00adte music that will express my pro\u00adfound search for con\u00adnec\u00adtion with our true uni\u00adver\u00adsal values: Peace, Harm\u00ado\u00adny, Love and genui\u00adne Happiness.<\/span><\/p>\n

                 The seed for this record was plan\u00adted lis\u00adtening to a CD<\/span> of Gongs, that I would put during the who\u00adle win\u00adter for bedti\u00adme with my child\u00adren, in the house on top of the moun\u00adtain of St. Car\u00adlos in the nor\u00adthe\u00adast of the Island of Ibi\u00adza. The house was situa\u00adted in a huge forest of pine\u00adwood, hid\u00adden, and we had our bed abo\u00adve the chim\u00adney and the fire was bur\u00adning every night, crea\u00adting the beau\u00adtiful shapes of light and shadow on the walls during the winter.<\/span><\/p>\n

                 The win\u00adter after, I star\u00adted to get inte\u00adres\u00adted in over\u00adto\u00adnes, colors of tones and Coltrane\u2019s cir\u00adcu\u00adlar musi\u00adcal hand\u00adwri\u00adting. I wan\u00adted to dedi\u00adca\u00adted more time to the sopra\u00adno saxo\u00adpho\u00adne and I com\u00adpo\u00adsed Earth Tones, a suite, based upon simp\u00adle melo\u00addies, struc\u00adtures and overtones.<\/span><\/p>\n

                   When I star\u00adted to record I wan\u00adted to crea\u00adte an orga\u00adnic dro\u00adne that would give me a peaceful base for the sto\u00adry of the record: the earth cal\u00adling us (EARTH<\/span> CALL<\/span>) to par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adte to turn in harm\u00ado\u00adny (EARTH<\/span> TONES<\/span>). I found four essen\u00adti\u00adal qua\u00adli\u00adties: HOPE<\/span> of ever\u00ady\u00adbo\u00addy \/ SHARING<\/span> of expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adces that would lead to WISDOM<\/span> and to UNCONDITIONAL<\/span> LOVE<\/span>, all based on the uni\u00adver\u00adsal prin\u00adci\u00adple of harm\u00ado\u00adny that was gui\u00adding me.<\/span><\/p>\n

                   I star\u00adted to record the dro\u00adne orches\u00adtra, rich in over\u00adto\u00adnes, first tam\u00adbu\u00adra, an Indi\u00adan accom\u00adpany\u00ading instru\u00adment and after\u00adwards sar\u00adan\u00adgi, a South Asi\u00adan vio\u00adlin, then I added pia\u00adno, flu\u00adte, melo\u00addi\u00adca, per\u00adcus\u00adsion instru\u00adments (mara\u00adcas and bells). I recor\u00added all instru\u00adments of the dro\u00adne orches\u00adtra line\u00adar and tried to crea\u00adte a natu\u00adral bow through that pro\u00adcess. After the dro\u00adne orches\u00adtra I recor\u00added melo\u00addies and solos all in one take, in the order they appear on the record. Rado\u00admir came up with an equi\u00adva\u00adlent idea of the gui\u00adtar dro\u00adnes, con\u00adsis\u00adting of dro\u00adne gui\u00adtar, arpeg\u00adgio gui\u00adtar, oscil\u00adla\u00adting gui\u00adtar and slide gui\u00adtar (in SHARING<\/span> und UNCONDITIONAL<\/span> LOVE<\/span>).<\/span><\/p>\n

                   We were lis\u00adtening over months befo\u00adre we deci\u00added to invi\u00adte Chris\u00adti\u00adan and Robert to record. They had alre\u00ada\u00addy recor\u00added with us the pre\u00advious record Awa\u00adke\u00adning (Dream\u00adland\u00adre\u00adcords DR<\/span> 06 CD<\/span>) and we knew that they would be able to feel the neces\u00adsi\u00adties of this music.<\/span><\/p>\n

                   We finis\u00adhed com\u00adple\u00admen\u00adting the last song (EARTH<\/span> TONES<\/span>) with an acou\u00adstic bass and a Per\u00adcus\u00adsion Dro\u00adne, recor\u00adding tim\u00adpa\u00adni and con\u00adcert bass drum, chau gongs and wind gongs and Tibe\u00adtan bells, which I had brought from Aus\u00adtria in the time of my fathers fun\u00ade\u00adral. The Tibe\u00adtan bells remin\u00added me of the church bells that I could hear from my par\u00adents apart\u00adment in the south of Vien\u00adna on Sun\u00adday mor\u00adnings, and I was ama\u00adzed sit\u00adting in my fathers libra\u00adry after his depar\u00adtu\u00adre expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adcing them through \u2018new ears\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

                 I hope that the lis\u00adte\u00adner will feel the same joy and exci\u00adte\u00adment hea\u00adring this music.

                   Oh that\u2019s nice, when someone takes the time to crea\u00adte com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons and also gives them ple\u00adnty of time to deve\u00adlop, time to brea\u00adthe, so to speak. \u201cEarth Tones\u201d of Aus\u00adtri\u00adan saxo\u00adpho\u00adnist Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann, who is living in Ibi\u00adza, is such an album. None of the pie\u00adces last less than ten minu\u00adtes, and the band with Rado\u00admir Milo\u00adj\u00adko\u00advic, gui\u00adtar, Robert Land\u00adfer\u00admann, bass and Chris\u00adti\u00adan Lil\u00adlin\u00adger, drums knows exact\u00adly, how to con\u00adju\u00adre gre\u00adat melo\u00addic arcs. Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann gene\u00adra\u00adted a den\u00adse car\u00adpet of sounds with Tam\u00adbu\u00adra, Sar\u00adan\u00adgi, mara\u00adcas, flu\u00adte and pia\u00adno, and has dealt a lot with over\u00adto\u00adnes, as you can tell, and the\u00adr\u00adein gave to her sopra\u00adno saxo\u00adpho\u00adne a beau\u00adtiful frame. Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann, Rado\u00admir Milo\u00adj\u00adko\u00advic, Robert Land\u00adfer\u00admann and Chris\u00adti\u00adan Lil\u00adlin\u00adger make music that car\u00adri\u00ades on the spi\u00adrit of John Col\u00adtra\u00adne.                      Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann \u2014 Earth Tones. The\u00adre is a who\u00adle musi\u00adcal direc\u00adtion asso\u00adcia\u00adted with sound the\u00adra\u00adpy, the impact of the music for impro\u00adving the men\u00adtal and even phy\u00adsio\u00adlo\u00adgi\u00adcal sta\u00adte of a per\u00adson. Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann, detail\u00aded in the liner notes of her album Earth Tones the histo\u00adry and the goal of this pro\u00adject, not a sin\u00adgle word is men\u00adtio\u00adning sound the\u00adra\u00adpy. Howe\u00adver, I am sure that having lis\u00adten\u00aded careful\u00adly Earth Tones and loo\u00adked out the win\u00addow, regard\u00adless of the wea\u00adther, you will find the world more colorful, fil\u00adled with life with a new mea\u00adning. I under\u00adstand that it sounds a bit pom\u00adpous, but the music real\u00adly adds Muriel\u2019s con\u00adscious\u00adness of optimism.<\/span><\/p>\n

                     Earth Tones \u2013 a sin\u00adgle suite, which con\u00adsists of six lar\u00adge instru\u00admen\u00adtal pie\u00adces, rela\u00adted to the gene\u00adral idea. In purely musi\u00adcal terms, wri\u00adtes Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann, the suite is based on a com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adti\u00adon of simp\u00adle melo\u00addies, tex\u00adtures and over\u00adto\u00adnes. The lea\u00adders main tool \u2013 the sopra\u00adno saxo\u00adpho\u00adne which is actively hel\u00adped by the stan\u00addard band, gui\u00adtar, bass and drums. But beneath their sound is \u201cplan\u00adted\u201d the sound of a full orches\u00adtra from a varie\u00adty of instru\u00adments Euro\u00adpean and, abo\u00adve all, of dif\u00adfe\u00adrent eth\u00adnic ori\u00adg\u00adins. The con\u00adtent of the suite \u2014 the mute appeal of the Earth to a har\u00admo\u00adnious exis\u00adtence, the search for this harm\u00ado\u00adny, and its acqui\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adon. In con\u00adtrast to the pre\u00advious\u00adly men\u00adtio\u00adned sound the\u00adra\u00adpeu\u00adtic works and many works in the gen\u00adre of ambi\u00adent music, the work of Gross\u00admann is not con\u00adflict-free, it has a lot of emo\u00adti\u00adon. The sopra\u00adno saxo\u00adpho\u00adne of Muri\u00adel often \u201cflies\u201d on top, she likes long-drawn phra\u00adses, often with vibra\u00adto. The power of this music is extre\u00adme\u00adly positive.<\/span><\/p>\n

                      Now it is time to tell more about the aut\u00adhor of this won\u00adderful pro\u00adject, and her col\u00adle\u00adagues. Expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adced and matu\u00adre musi\u00adci\u00adan, Muri\u00adel Gross\u00adman is ori\u00adgi\u00adnal\u00adly from Aus\u00adtria, but in 2002 she moved to Spain, and in 2004 sett\u00adled on the island of Ibi\u00adza. In her dis\u00adco\u00adgra\u00adphy is quite a lot of work; she has col\u00adla\u00adbo\u00adra\u00adted with a num\u00adber of well-known Euro\u00adpean musi\u00adci\u00adans. Muri\u00adel plays on the dif\u00adfe\u00adrent types of saxo\u00adpho\u00adnes and even sings, but in this case, used only sopra\u00adno saxo\u00adpho\u00adne. She pre\u00adfers small com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons. Earth Tones is writ\u00adten in the for\u00admat of the Quar\u00adtet, which was also atten\u00added by her long-time part\u00adner, Ser\u00adbi\u00adan gui\u00adta\u00adrist Rado\u00admir Milo\u00adj\u00adko\u00advic, thin, cool, I would say, phi\u00adlo\u00adso\u00adphi\u00adcal solos which ide\u00adal\u00adly set off the emo\u00adti\u00adon of sound and rhythm of the Ger\u00adman rhythm group Robert Land\u00adfer\u00admann \u2014 Chris\u00adti\u00adan Lil\u00adlin\u00adger. By the way, the same per\u00adso\u00adnal was recor\u00adding her album Awa\u00adke\u00adning in 2013, so that the musi\u00adci\u00adans know and under\u00adstand each other. Among the foun\u00adders of the pro\u00adject should be attri\u00adbu\u00adted Muri\u00adel and child\u00adren: tog\u00ade\u00adther with her mother, they crea\u00adted a pain\u00adting fea\u00adtured on the album cover.<\/span><\/p>\n

                     \u2026 Until now, with the image of a woman play\u00ading the sopra\u00adno saxo\u00adpho\u00adne, I asso\u00adcia\u00adted with the bril\u00adli\u00adant Ame\u00adri\u00adcan Jane Ira Bloom. Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann plays dif\u00adfer\u00adent\u00adly, more leni\u00adent, per\u00adhaps more femi\u00adni\u00adne, if the\u00adre is an appro\u00adpria\u00adte way for defi\u00adni\u00adti\u00adon. I do not expect the appearance of the name of Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann in the lists of the Asso\u00adcia\u00adti\u00adon of Jazz Jour\u00adna\u00adlists for the best sopra\u00adno sax play\u00aders: we know that the tas\u00adtes of Ame\u00adri\u00adcan cri\u00adtics suf\u00adfer excep\u00adtio\u00adnal Ame\u00adri\u00adcan cen\u00adtrism. But by the rich\u00adness of her music, the stock of crea\u00adti\u00adve ide\u00adas and the tech\u00adni\u00adcal bag\u00adga\u00adge I per\u00adso\u00adnal\u00adly have expan\u00added the num\u00adber of talen\u00adted and bright sopra\u00adno saxo\u00adpho\u00adnists of modern jazz.

                        The first work of saxo\u00adpho\u00adnist Ibi\u00adza as Here and Now (2008) or Birth of the Mys\u00adtery (2010), inten\u00adse and bare, were focu\u00adsed on ener\u00adgy; Awa\u00adke\u00adning, we have just seen, sound\u00aded like a hymn to free\u00addom. The next album, Earth Tones<\/strong>, actual\u00adly reve\u00adals its\u00adelf col\u00adtra\u00adni\u00adan. Emin\u00adent\u00adly col\u00adtra\u00adni\u00adan. The urgen\u00adcy to say, the urgen\u00adcy of sound, were era\u00adsed in favor of appease\u00adment, sere\u00adni\u00adty and final\u00adly won in the very idea of see\u00adking, cir\u00adcu\u00adlar waves, spi\u00adri\u00adtua\u00adli\u00adty: \u201cPeace, Harm\u00ado\u00adny, Love and genui\u00adne Hap\u00adpi\u00adness \u201care the four poles clai\u00admed by the saxo\u00adpho\u00adnist. Reso\u00adnant and vio\u00adlent\u00adly like the four move\u00adments of a major album in the histo\u00adry of jazz, right? The gene\u00adsis hers\u00adelf of Earth Tones took over seve\u00adral months during which Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann espe\u00adci\u00adal\u00adly con\u00adcoc\u00adted a dro\u00adne orches\u00adtra made of ori\u00aden\u00adtal per\u00adcus\u00adsion, sar\u00adan\u00adgi, pia\u00adno and others, who imme\u00addia\u00adte\u00adly fomen\u00adted a musi\u00adcal car\u00adpet con\u00addu\u00adci\u00adve to tra\u00advel and to ele\u00adva\u00adte. Reflec\u00adted in a pocket with colorful visu\u00adal and whir\u00adling bass, drums and elec\u00adtric gui\u00adtar swirl, impel\u00adling oce\u00adan waves, cra\u00adzy curr\u00adents infla\u00adme the wisps of the sax and com\u00adpe\u00adte for play\u00ading and music in this exi\u00adting musi\u00adcal flow, that vibra\u00adtes like a gre\u00adat moment of spi\u00adri\u00adtu\u00adal jazz. Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann signs here pro\u00adba\u00adb\u00adly her masterpiece.<\/span>
