The Vien\u00adnese jazz saxo\u00adpho\u00adnist, who lives in Ibi\u00adza, is start\u00ading her inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal care\u00ader.           For Euro\u00adpean musi\u00adci\u00adans, it is somehow like being appoin\u00adted to the sta\u00adte of nobi\u00adli\u00adty when one of the Lon\u00addon inde\u00adpen\u00addent Jazz labels cat\u00adches your eye. And that hap\u00adpens more when you make yours\u00adelf scar\u00adce. Like to Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann, the saxo\u00adpho\u00adnist born in Paris in 1971 and then rai\u00adsed in Vien\u00adna, who has lived and  work\u00aded in Ibi\u00adza sin\u00adce 2007.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

         Gerald Short, who once ran a small shop in Cam\u00adden Lock, now his Jazz\u00adman label is a label of the most keen jazz lovers, sup\u00adp\u00adly\u00ading the world with musi\u00adcal deli\u00adca\u00adci\u00ades. \u201cWe dig deeper\u201d is his slo\u00adgan. He did so in the case of Gross\u00admann, a pio\u00adneer of the cur\u00adrent boom in spi\u00adri\u00adtu\u00adal jazz. In 2019 he released radio edits of long num\u00adbers like \u201cGol\u00adden Rule\u201d as a sin\u00adgle. The shor\u00adtening was not everyone\u2019s cup of tea, but the sin\u00adgle spark\u00aded inte\u00adrest in an artist, who works away from the big busi\u00adness, and working very actively. Sin\u00adce 2007 she has recor\u00added nine albums on her Dream\u00adland label, and in 2018 two more works fol\u00adlo\u00adwed on RR<\/span> Gems. Short has now released the haun\u00adting album \u201cEle\u00adva\u00adti\u00adon\u201d, which com\u00adpi\u00adles pie\u00adces from 2016 and 2017. Ano\u00adther opus is to fol\u00adlow in autumn. Gross\u00admann, who ori\u00adgi\u00adnal\u00adly stu\u00addi\u00aded vete\u00adri\u00adna\u00adry medi\u00adci\u00adne, has been fol\u00adlo\u00adwing the music of the old mas\u00adters, abo\u00adve all the music of John Col\u00adtra\u00adne, but also Pha\u00adro\u00adah San\u00adders, Archie Shepp and Albert Ayler, for lon\u00adger than Kama\u00adsi Washing\u00adton and Shaba\u00adka Hut\u00adchings, who have made spi\u00adri\u00adtu\u00adal jazz popu\u00adlar again.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

She likes to impro\u00advi\u00adse to exo\u00adtic sound\u00ading, pre-recor\u00added \u201cdro\u00adnes\u201d: The\u00adse are den\u00adse, poly\u00adrhyth\u00admic sound car\u00adpets with Afri\u00adcan and Indi\u00adan instru\u00adments such as Kalim\u00adba, N\u2019Go\u00adni, Kra\u00adkebs, Bal\u00ada\u00adfon, Sar\u00adan\u00adgi and Tam\u00adbu\u00adra, but also with pia\u00adno and Bass. With the\u00adse reme\u00addies, she lures you into a space of con\u00adscious\u00adness bey\u00adond simp\u00adle wakeful\u00adness. But medi\u00adta\u00adti\u00adon does not work eit\u00adher. It is rather the case that the lively pul\u00adse of the music and the inten\u00adsi\u00adty of the saxo\u00adpho\u00adne sound lead into a kind of invi\u00adgo\u00adra\u00adting trance.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

         Gross\u00admann is not the only jazz capa\u00adci\u00adty on the Balea\u00adric island. Also the Ger\u00adman pia\u00adnist Joa\u00adchim K\u00fchn, who work\u00aded with Free jazz gre\u00adats like Ornet\u00adte Cole\u00adman and Archie Shepp lives the\u00adre. The two made fri\u00adends. May\u00adbe the\u00adre will be a col\u00adla\u00adbo\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon some\u00adday. Until then, Gross\u00admann will pro\u00adba\u00adb\u00adly con\u00adti\u00adnue play\u00ading with her regu\u00adlar musi\u00adci\u00adans, in addi\u00adti\u00adon to Gina Schwarz on bass, Rado\u00admir Milo\u00adj\u00adko\u00advic on gui\u00adtar and Uros Sta\u00admen\u00adko\u00advic on drums. No mat\u00adter what wild land\u00adscapes the music goes in, the four trust each other. The deli\u00adca\u00adte graceful\u00adness of \u201cChant\u201d, the flam\u00adboy\u00adan\u00adce in some\u00adwhat brisk pie\u00adces like \u201cRising\u201d, all of this sounds very authen\u00adtic. With the clim\u00adbing aid of the Bri\u00adtish label Jazz\u00adman, Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann will soon be a house\u00adhold name in the cen\u00adters of jazz.
