Next to her in the stu\u00addio were all tho\u00adse musi\u00adci\u00adans with whom she has been working in recent years: Ser\u00adbi\u00adan gui\u00adta\u00adrist Rado\u00admir Milo\u00adj\u00adko\u00advic, his com\u00adpa\u00adtri\u00adot, drum\u00admer Uros Sta\u00admen\u00adko\u00advic, the orga\u00adnist Llo\u00adren\u00e7 Bar\u00adce\u00adlo (Spa\u00adnish \u2014 Balea\u00adric, though not from Ibi\u00adza, but from Mal\u00adlor\u00adca) who made his debut in the Grossmann\u2018s ensem\u00adble when recor\u00adding Rever\u00adence and the bas\u00adsist from Aus\u00adtria, Gina Schwarz, who has play\u00aded more than once with Gross\u00admann and who joi\u00adn\u00aded the afo\u00adre\u00admen\u00adtio\u00adned quar\u00adtet on three tracks.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: calibri; color: #339966;\">Muri\u00adel offe\u00adred the lis\u00adten\u00aders a pro\u00adgram of nine new com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons, per\u00adfor\u00admed in her cha\u00adrac\u00adte\u00adristic style, orga\u00adni\u00adcal\u00adly com\u00adbi\u00adning the most modern trends in jazz with a solid back\u00adground of Coltrane\u2019s ide\u00adas. Per\u00adhaps this time this syn\u00adthe\u00adsis tur\u00adned out to be the most impres\u00adsi\u00adve, and the ensem\u00adble sound in Uni\u00adver\u00adsal Code see\u00admed to me the most solid and inte\u00adgral. This fee\u00adling aro\u00adse alre\u00ada\u00addy when lis\u00adtening to the first track of the album, Reso\u00adnan\u00adce, in which Gross\u00admann and Milo\u00adj\u00adko\u00advic take turns giving out solos one brigh\u00adter than the other, and Stamenkovic\u2019s rhyth\u00admic dra\u00adwings at first made me remem\u00adber Rever\u00adence (2019) with its empha\u00adsis on Afri\u00adcan motifs, and then trans\u00adfor\u00admed natu\u00adral\u00adly into funk. In the intro\u00adduc\u00adto\u00adry part of Cla\u00adri\u00adty, the organ of Bar\u00adce\u00adlo con\u00adfi\u00addent\u00adly assu\u00admed the func\u00adtions of the bass, anti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adting a long exten\u00added solo by the lea\u00adder of the ensem\u00adble, and again the per\u00adcus\u00adsion sound\u00aded excel\u00adlent. For Inter\u00adcon\u00adnec\u00adtion, the lon\u00adgest pie\u00adce of the album with a sound length of ten and a half minu\u00adtes, Muri\u00adel sug\u00adgested a medi\u00adum tem\u00adpo, her sopra\u00adno saxo\u00adpho\u00adne solo sound\u00ading light and airy, like a breath of Balea\u00adric bree\u00adze, and Milojkovic\u2019s gui\u00adtar draf\u00adting a genui\u00adne swing. In the next three songs we can hear a quin\u00adtet with the par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adti\u00adon of Gina Schwarz. I was par\u00adti\u00adcu\u00adlar\u00adly impres\u00adsed by the pie\u00adce Tran\u00adsi\u00adence, whe\u00adre in the midd\u00adle of the com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adon she per\u00adfor\u00admes an unex\u00adpec\u00adted\u00adly lyri\u00adcal dou\u00adble bass solo, neat\u00adly fit\u00adting into the fol\u00adlo\u00adwing solo exploits in the spi\u00adrit of modal jazz of Gross\u00admann and Bar\u00adce\u00adlo. But in Essence, whe\u00adre Muriel\u2019s solo rose abo\u00adve the tra\u00addi\u00adtio\u00adnal blues form, I thought I heard some\u00adthing ori\u00aden\u00adtal in the sound of her sopra\u00adno.
