Alto, sopra\u00adno and tenor saxo\u00adpho\u00adnist and com\u00adpo\u00adser Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann, can be cal\u00adled a real world citi\u00adzen. She was born in Paris but grew up in Vien\u00adna and has lived in Ibi\u00adza for more than a deca\u00adde and a half. She stu\u00addi\u00aded clas\u00adsi\u00adcal flu\u00adte in the Aus\u00adtri\u00adan capi\u00adtal from the age of five to the age of twen\u00adty-one, and later swit\u00adched to the saxo\u00adpho\u00adne. Muri\u00adel is a gre\u00adat admi\u00adrer and fol\u00adlower of the work of John Col\u00adtra\u00adne. A few years ago, she also gave a very suc\u00adcessful con\u00adcert in Buda\u00adpest. We are now pre\u00adsen\u00adting two of the artist\u2019s albums. A spe\u00adcial fea\u00adture of the\u00adse is that in addi\u00adti\u00adon to the CD<\/span>, they are also available on vinyl.\n

Muri\u00adel Gross\u00admann made her \u201cGol\u00adden Rule\u201d album with her band, which was foun\u00added in 2014 and still works today. The music team is a real inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal for\u00adma\u00adti\u00adon, with Ser\u00adbi\u00adan Rado\u00admir Milo\u00adj\u00adko\u00advic play\u00ading gui\u00adtar, Aus\u00adtri\u00adan Gina Schwarz on bass and Ser\u00adbi\u00adan Uros Sta\u00admen\u00adko\u00advic on drums.\n

The album pro\u00adves well that Gross\u00admann not only sim\u00adply lis\u00adten\u00aded to Col\u00adtra\u00adne a lot, but also unders\u00adtood the late musician\u2019s mes\u00adsa\u00adge. \u2014 Through her own com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons \u2014 the true beau\u00adty, hones\u00adty and joy of Coltrane\u2019s musi\u00adcal thoughts live on while mas\u00adterful\u00adly dis\u00adplay\u00ading her own crea\u00adti\u00adve ide\u00adas. This album is a rich repo\u00adsi\u00adto\u00adry of new ide\u00adas, a pro\u00adduc\u00adtion of cha\u00adrac\u00adter and spe\u00adcial plea\u00adsu\u00adre to the listener\u2019s ears. Gross\u00admann is noto\u00adrious\u00adly a big sup\u00adport\u00ader of the so-cal\u00adled spell game. Accor\u00addin\u00adgly, more than half of the 7 com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adon reper\u00adtoire con\u00adsists of recor\u00addings lon\u00adger than 11 minu\u00adtes of play\u00ading time. Out\u00adstan\u00adding among them is the near\u00adly 19-minu\u00adte \u201cTran\u00ade\u00ading In\u201d. For tho\u00adse who love rich, breath\u00adta\u00adking works that encou\u00adra\u00adge the soul to soar free\u00adly, this album is a real treat.\n

Gol\u00adden Rule con\u00adveys medi\u00adta\u00adti\u00adve calm and ecsta\u00adtic joy. Gross\u00admann shows what melo\u00addies she can bring out of her instru\u00adment, play\u00ading a lyri\u00adcal solo that seems like a dis\u00adcreet com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adon in every bar. The dyna\u00admism of the soloists and the tele\u00adki\u00adne\u00adtic per\u00adfor\u00admance of the quar\u00adtet accom\u00adplish the goal of the album: it evo\u00adkes a sta\u00adte simi\u00adlar to tran\u00ads\u00adcen\u00addence from its audience.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n

A new musi\u00adci\u00adan will also make his debut on Muri\u00adel Grossmann\u2019s album \u201cQuiet Earth\u201d. Llo\u00adren\u00e7 Bar\u00adce\u00adlo, who plays the Ham\u00admond organ from Mal\u00adlor\u00adca, doesn\u2019t take the place of one of the old musi\u00adci\u00adans, but expands the band.\n

This pla\u00adte is shorter in size than usu\u00adal from Gross\u00admann. Only four songs are on this album with a show\u00adtime of about 40 minu\u00adtes, all of the saxophonist\u2019s own com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons. In a well-traceable way, Gross\u00admann draws a lot of inspi\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon from John Col\u00adtra\u00adne in this pro\u00adduc\u00adtion as well. Well, for me per\u00adso\u00adnal\u00adly, the music of a saxo\u00adpho\u00adne always evo\u00adkes the most posi\u00adti\u00adve emo\u00adti\u00adons. This disc is no excep\u00adti\u00adon. \u201cWien\u201d ope\u00adning the album is the only one that can be cal\u00adled clas\u00adsi\u00adcal (in the jazz sen\u00adse). We need to think main\u00adly about the struc\u00adtu\u00adre of the com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adon, whe\u00adre after a solo with the saxo\u00adpho\u00adnist, Milojkovic\u2019s gui\u00adtar, then Barcelo\u2019s organ, and final\u00adly Grossmann\u2019s saxo\u00adpho\u00adne come to the fore again. In the world of thought of the com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adon, the pul\u00adsa\u00adting, modern Aus\u00adtri\u00adan capi\u00adtal appears more than in the time of the impe\u00adri\u00adal Vien\u00adna anno Franz Joseph.\n

At the very least, it is clo\u00adse\u00adly rela\u00adted to the vivid saxo\u00adpho\u00adne colors and the vary\u00ading ante\u00adce\u00addents of Afri\u00adcan motifs that give the rhythm sec\u00adtion a pro\u00admi\u00adnent role. The impres\u00adsi\u00adon is emer\u00adging that Afri\u00adcan Call just didn\u2019t have a place on that album, but it works well here. The second half of the album seems like a kind of creed. In the form of \u201cPeaceful River\u201d and \u201cQuiet Earth,\u201d Muri\u00adel Grossmann\u2019s dreams of how our pla\u00adnet should look (see her wis\u00adhes on the album notes) appear.\n

Ever\u00adyo\u00adne wants to use their own means to draw atten\u00adti\u00adon to the dan\u00adgers lur\u00adking on our pla\u00adnet. The importance of sus\u00adtainable deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment. What can a musi\u00adci\u00adan do about this? SHe com\u00adpo\u00adses music and fills his\/her works with such thoughtful\u00adness that it is deep\u00adly ing\u00adrai\u00adned in the listener\u2019s memo\u00adry.
